The 3pm crash isn't a willpower problem
The 3pm crash isn’t a willpower problem.
It’s what you ate at 12:30. The sandwich, the second latte, the thing from the office jar — sugar in, spike up, and the floor drops out around three.

The 3pm problem
Everyone treats the afternoon crash as a coffee problem.
It’s a fuel problem. Caffeine borrows energy you haven’t got — and charges interest at five.
- ✕ The third coffee, then a shaky, unfocused hour
- ✕ The office candy jar, because it’s there and you’re done deciding
- ✕ A “protein” bar with more sugar than a doughnut
- ✕ Powering through, then eating everything at 7pm
Fuel the afternoon with food that holds, not a stimulant that stalls.

What a real customer said
“I really like the chocolaty taste of these. They have the perfect amount of crunch and are surprisingly not too sweet (unlike a few other pre-workout snacks I’ve tried) making them feel like a treat without any of the guilt. They also have a very clean list of ingredients, which is fantastic for someone with quite a few food intolerances like myself.”

Nothing to hide
The entire ingredient list.
Cacao Goji: Organic dates, organic tapioca syrup, organic puffed quinoa, organic chia meal, organic cacao nibs, organic hemp seeds, organic flax meal, organic cacao powder, organic goji berries, organic pumpkin seeds, sea salt.
Eleven ingredients. That’s the whole list.
Made in a facility that also processes milk, eggs, tree nuts, peanuts and soybeans.
Before you ask
The honest answers
Does it actually taste like chocolate?
Like dark chocolate, not milk chocolate. The cacao is unsweetened — nibs and powder — and the only sweetness in the bag comes from dates. If your reference point is a Snickers, this will read as bitter. If it’s 85% dark, you’ll be at home.
Is there caffeine in it?
A small amount, naturally — cacao contains caffeine and theobromine on its own. We don’t add any. It’s far less than a cup of coffee, so treat it as food rather than as a stimulant.
Will this actually hold me until dinner?
Two bites are 120 calories with 4g plant protein and 5g fiber. That’s a bridge, not a meal — enough to take the edge off a 3pm dip without sitting heavy. If you need it to replace lunch, our bars are 240 calories with 10g protein.
What’s the texture like?
Dense and chewy with crunchy puffed quinoa and seed pieces throughout — closer to a pressed seed bar than a soft truffle. It is on the dry side. If you were hoping for a brownie bite, this is the thing most likely to put you off.
How is this different from the Açaí Hibiscus ones?
Same base, different character. Açaí Hibiscus is bright and tart with 3g fiber; Cacao Goji is chocolate-forward with 5g fiber and cacao powder in the mix. Both are 120 calories, 4g protein and 3g sugar per serving. Most people have a clear preference, which is why the 4-bag deal lets you mix.
Why did my bag arrive as one clump?
Because there’s nothing in them holding the pieces apart — no gums, no anti-caking agents. Bites press together in transit, especially in warm weather. They break apart by hand, and twenty minutes in the fridge makes it cleaner.
$11.99 a bag seems like a lot.
It is more than a supermarket snack. Dates, hemp, chia and cacao cost more than syrup and soy isolate — that’s most of the difference. With this offer you’re paying $8.99 a bag, and there’s no subscription to cancel.
Do they need refrigerating?
Not required. We recommend it — chilling firms them up and keeps them from pressing together — but a cool, dry cupboard is fine.
Tomorrow at three, try something that holds.
